Let's Gimp the pictures from now on

Read a thing ages ago. Well, okay. I think it was in May, June (2007) or something when the newspapers don't have that much to write about. The article was about Adobe didn't like that their trademark Photoshop is used as a verb or as a synonym for image manipulation. They are afraid that the trademark loses it's value and photoshop become just a word that everyone can use into theirs software and gain a lot that Adobe put a lot money and work to build up. In one way I can understand them.

On the other hand I can't. It is because of this "freedom of speech" of the word Photoshop is where it is today. Not just, but a big deal. Adobe doesn't want it and fine, I say. Because I've discovered something else than the software in question. While Adobe wants about $100 for the Elements edition (budget edit for home users) and seven times more for the real deal - the thing I uses don't even cost a dime.

The thing I mean is Gimp. I have used both Photoshop and Gimp (I even got the Photoshop Elements 3 via the Swedish eBay for 8 bucks!) and the later can do more or less the same things as the first one. So, from now on, use Gimp and say that you have gimped the image or that you are going to gimp the picture. :)

Keep on shooting with your cameras. Love.
